The prime reason for a farmer’s death is due to heavy debt that they are not able to repay. This situation arises due to the failure of crops because of infertile land or they don’t have enough resources to keep the land productive.
Due to the current way of farming techniques most of the land remain unfertile and in near future very sadly 50% of the entire agricultural land would be dead that means they would remain unusable.
The main question is what is the reason behind land infertility? Let’s see some of the reasons for it:-
The major reason is not following the proper Crop Cycle. The farmers now grow the crops which are profitable to them so they continuously grow the same crop again and again due to repetitive use of same crop that land becomes unproductive for that crop.
Another reason is that the farmers are using urea instead of Organic Compost which is making the land infertile
The farmers are using Pesticides excessively where 2-3% of pesticides goes on to the plants and rest goes inside the soil hence contaminating the soil and making it toxic.
On the other hand the water level is also decreasing which reduces the moisture of the land hence reducing its usability.
In order to overcome these problems there is a land review system as well where each land is given rating.
The Virtual farmers can thereby help the farmers in saving their farm land and can directly connect with their family they have a portal access to where they will be able to choose the farming land and farmer.
They can see the details of cost, expenditure, production and profit.
They can suggest a farmer directly to improve production quality and quantity.
They can ask to monitor the soil quality and review land.
Most importantly they can help the farmer to create his land as an ideal agriculture land by providing him all the requirements for his land like cattle, pond, hut, store, solar system, water harvesting, compost tank, bio gas etc.
The most important feature of this initiative is that a group of virtual farmers can come together and discuss it on the forum who can contribute for the same land which would be a great help to the farmer and his land.
